Palm Syrup

Gomeran palm honey is the star product of Gomeran cuisine and is considered a delicacy, a highly prestigious gourmet item both in and outside the Canary Islands. The organoleptic qualities of this honey, along with the process it requires and its many culinary uses, have made palm honey an exclusive product and a true emblem of La Gomera.

The final product is obtained by cooking the guarapo (palm sap). The guarapo is collected in the morning and, once cleaned of impurities, it’s cooked for hours to reach the perfect consistency. Once preserved, the honey has a long shelf life, and its culinary, medicinal, and dietary properties are extraordinary.
